My Story
In April 2015, our tax advisor told my husband and I that as empty-nesters, we had no tax deductions, so he suggested we start a small business. We had already owned a failed coffee shop and filed bankruptcy so I’m sure you can understand why I wasn’t excited about his advice.
But, my sister in law had just started a business with Scentsy so I thought I’d help her out and “buy” a business too. At only $99, it beat the thousands that other startups would cost. And I made it abundantly clear that this “business“ was purely for tax purposes and I had NO INTENTION to sell it.
I was my best and ONLY customer for a couple of years. I didn’t push to earn any of the awards available to new consultants. A couple of years into it, my tax advisor informed me that in order to continue using my “business” deductions I would need to start showing some growth. I agreed and began letting others know about my secret “business”.
As I started sharing Scentsy, I discovered things about myself that I didn’t know. I learned that I was actually more of a people person than I had thought, I gained beautiful friendships that I didn’t know I needed, and that I have a passion for helping others.
The more I shared, the more confident I became. I found community and started traveling places like Nashville, Las Vegas, Austin, Kansas City, Charlotte and Anaheim with my Scentsy friends. I’ve been blessed to earn an all-expense paid Mediterranean Cruise for two and took my husband along! What a gift it is to be able to see so many incredible places and share these adventures!!!
Fast forward to today: I’ve now sold over $200K in wickless products, earned the Annual Sales Award 3 years consecutively, learned leadership skills annnnd my house ALWAYS smells amazing!!
I’m so grateful to my husband, family and friends for their encouragement, love and support but I know my story is far from over and I hope to continue to share Scentsy and help others discover how they, too can live a life filled with fragrance and success!
